Flora Care

Where we teach young people the skills they need to transform
themselves, others, and our global communities.

Who we are

Flora Care is a compassionate and forward-thinking organisation. It was founded in 2025 to support young individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs. Our first care home is proudly based in the heart of Peterborough. We work closely with Local Authorities and Health Boards across England, Scotland and Wales. Our goal is to deliver exceptional care.

At Flora Care we believe in nurturing potential. We create personalised care programmes and provide welcoming therapeutic spaces. Our team is dedicated and experienced. We help young people grow and thrive. We support them in achieving their personal goals no matter the challenges they face.

Our Vision

At Flora Care our vision is to create a nurturing home where every child feels seen, heard and valued. We believe that all children deserve the opportunity to thrive. This means supporting every child regardless of their background, abilities or challenges. Our aim is to build an inclusive environment where emotional wellbeing, personal growth and safety are at the centre of everything we do.

We understand that progress looks different for everyone. That is why we celebrate every step forward, whether it is big or small. Each child is encouraged to grow at their own pace. We offer tailored guidance and maintain a consistent presence. Through this support we help young individuals build confidence, develop resilience and stay motivated to pursue a brighter future.

Our homes are shaped by the voices of the young people who live in them. We actively involve them in decision-making and create a relaxed, homely atmosphere where they feel a true sense of belonging. Through meaningful routines and strong relationships, we offer everyday encouragement. This helps each young person develop the tools they need to make lasting and positive changes in their lives.

We also believe in equality of opportunity. Every young person should have access to the same choices, chances and experiences as their peers. We work closely with families, professionals and support networks to reduce barriers and open up new possibilities. In doing so, we give each child the best possible path to independence and long-term wellbeing.

The admission process at Flora Care is designed to be collaborative and transparent. Whenever possible, referrals are discussed directly with our home manager to ensure a smooth and suitable transition for the young person.

We carry out a detailed assessment based on the referral information. This includes reviewing the suitability of the placement, compatibility with the current group, and the staffing resources available. We consider all factors such as age, needs and behaviours to make sure we can offer the right support in the right environment.

Flora Care offers highly personalised care packages, designed to meet the unique needs of each individual. Whether a young person requires 1:1 or 2:1 support, we adapt our approach as progress is made and independence grows.

Our homes are designed to offer both open communal areas and quiet, calming spaces like sensory rooms and snug lounges. Each child is encouraged to personalise their bedroom, turning it into their own sanctuary. This balance of shared and private space helps them regulate emotions, reduce stress, and feel truly at home.

At Flora Care we take a restorative approach to help young people learn from challenges and rebuild relationships. Our methods encourage open communication, accountability and empathy. This allows those affected by harm to express their feelings and those responsible to take meaningful steps to make things right.

Instead of reacting only when problems arise, we use restorative practices to prevent conflict before it begins. We do this by building understanding and emotional awareness. We believe that by focusing on inclusion, equity and reconciliation, we create a supportive environment. This helps young people develop their own strategies for managing conflict and stepping confidently into adulthood.
